Open the Presets tab in your group (/dashboard), preview the exact changes, and apply in one click — your current setup is backed up automatically so you can undo. Spam protection (CAS and AI) stays on in every preset, and you can save your own configuration as a personal preset to reuse across groups.

A preset is a curated starting point: someone has already picked the right settings, moderation rules and automation triggers for a particular kind of community, so you do not have to configure everything by hand. You pick the one that matches your group and apply it.
Telm ships a library of curated presets grouped by community type, plus the option to save your own configuration as a personal preset and reuse it across groups. A preset is a snapshot of a good configuration, not a live subscription — after you apply it, everything it changed is yours to fine-tune further.

2Why start from a preset
Configuring moderation from scratch means making dozens of small decisions — how strict to be, which links to allow, what to do with new members, which words to catch. A preset makes those decisions for you based on what works for communities like yours, so you get a sensible, coherent setup in seconds instead of an afternoon.
It is also the safest way to reach a strong configuration. Because a preset is assembled and tested as a whole, its settings, rules and triggers are designed to work together rather than fight each other — something that is easy to get wrong when you toggle options one at a time.

3Browsing the catalog
In the Presets tab you will find the full catalog. Filter it by community type with the tabs at the top, or use the search box to find a preset by name, description or one of its highlights.
Every card shows a short description, a few highlights of what it does, and how many settings, rules and triggers it will change — so you know the scope before you open it. Pick the one whose description matches your community most closely; you do not need a perfect match, since you can adjust anything afterwards.

4Preview before you apply
Nothing changes until you say so. Click Preview on any preset and Telm shows an exact side-by-side comparison: each setting with its current value and what it will become, plus every rule and trigger that will be added or updated. You can expand a rule to see its conditions and action.
When you are ready, click Apply. A confirmation tells you how many rules and triggers were applied, and a badge marks the preset as the one currently applied to the group. If you want to see the effect on real messages before it can act, turn on monitoring mode first and apply the preset while the group is being observed rather than enforced.
5Saving and reusing your own presets
Once a group is set up the way you like, click Save current configuration to store it as your own preset. It appears under My presets, where you can preview it, apply it to another group, or delete it.
This is how you keep several communities consistent: configure one, save it, and apply the same preset everywhere. If you manage many groups, pairing personal presets with import and export of settings makes rolling out a standard across all of them a few clicks of work.

6After you apply a preset
A preset is a starting point, not a lock. Everything it set is now an ordinary part of your group's configuration, so you can open Settings, Rules or Triggers and change anything that does not fit your community. Applying a preset does not tie you to it — the badge just tells you which one you started from.
If the new setup turns out too strict or too loose, you have two easy paths back: adjust the specific settings that bother you, or apply your automatic Backup preset to return to exactly how things were before.
