To manage a group from the Telm dashboard, you connect it to your account. Open Add Group on the dashboard, pick a method, add @telmcom_bot as an admin in the group, and either run the /start command with your personal link code or confirm the six-digit code the bot sends. Once linked, the group shows up in your dashboard and you control every antispam and moderation setting from the web.

Telm protects your Telegram group through the bot @telmcom_bot, but you configure and monitor everything from the web dashboard at telm.com. Linking is the step that ties a specific Telegram group to your dashboard account.
Before a group is linked, the bot can be present in the chat but has no owner in the dashboard, so you cannot open its settings, view its journal, or change its protection. After linking, the group appears in your list of groups and you become its admin in the dashboard.
Linking is a one-time action per group. You only repeat it if you remove the group and want to reconnect it later.
- The group becomes visible in your dashboard group list.
- You are registered as the group admin inside Telm and can manage all of its settings.
- If this is your first group and your account has not used its trial, a 7-day Pro trial is granted automatically.
2Before you start
Linking works when two things are true: you are an administrator of the Telegram group, and the bot @telmcom_bot is (or will be) an administrator in that same group. Telm checks your admin rights when you connect, so a regular member cannot link a group they do not control.
Make the bot an admin with permission to delete messages and ban users. Without those rights it can join the chat but cannot enforce any protection.
3Method 1 - Link code
The link code is the most reliable way to connect any group, including private groups without a public username. You generate a short personal code in the dashboard, then paste it into the group as a bot command.
Open the dashboard, click Add Group, choose Telegram, then choose the Link code method. The dashboard shows the bot username, a reminder to add the bot as an admin, and a ready-to-copy command in the form /start followed by your code. Send that command inside the group, and the bot links the group to your account instantly.
Codes are single-use and expire after 15 minutes. If a code expires or is already used, reopen Add Group to get a fresh one.
4Method 2 - Username verification
If your group has a public @username, you can connect it without touching the group chat directly. In Add Group, choose the Quick add method, type the group username, and the bot posts a six-digit verification code into that group.
Copy the six-digit code from the group and enter it back in the dashboard to confirm ownership. This proves you can read messages in the group and completes the link.
This method needs the bot to already be a member (and admin) of the group, and the group to have a public username. For private groups, use the link code method instead.
5After the group is linked
The moment linking succeeds, the group appears on your dashboard. From there you can open its settings, tune antispam thresholds, add moderation and trigger rules, and watch live activity.
Your first group starts on a 7-day Pro trial (one trial per account — further groups start on Free) so you can try the full feature set right away. When the trial ends, the group moves to the free plan unless you subscribe.
