Organization team and roles in Telm: owner, manager, analyst

1Working as a team

An organization is meant to be run by more than one person. You can invite colleagues and give each of them a role that decides what they are allowed to do across the whole network.

This is far simpler than adding people as admins in every single Telegram group. A teammate you invite to the organization can work across all its groups at once, according to their role.

2The three roles

There are three roles in an organization, from most to least powerful.

  • Owner: full control, including billing. There is exactly one owner, and the owner cannot be removed from the organization.
  • Manager: can manage everything day-to-day - attach and detach groups, invite teammates, apply bulk settings, and edit group configuration - but cannot start or change the subscription.
  • Analyst: read-only. Can view the network, members, and cross-group analytics, but cannot change settings or manage groups.
Only the owner can start or manage billing, because the Enterprise subscription is charged to the owner's card.

3Inviting members

To add someone, you create an invite from the members area and choose the role they will receive. Telm generates a one-time invite code. Share it with the person, and when they accept it they join the organization with that role.

Invites are temporary for safety. By default an invite is valid for 7 days, and it can be set to last up to 30 days at most. Each code can be used only once.

  • You can invite people as manager or analyst.
  • You cannot invite a second owner - there is only one.
  • Invites expire after 7 days by default, 30 days maximum.

4Managing and removing members

Any team member can see who else is in the organization. Owners and managers can remove members and revoke pending invites that have not been used yet.

The owner is protected: they cannot be removed, so the organization always has someone in charge of billing and control.

5Access to the groups

When you add someone to the organization as owner or manager, they automatically get full access to every group in the network from the Telm dashboard - even if they are not a Telegram admin of those chats.

Analysts do not get this full group access. They can read the shared reports and the network overview, which is exactly what a reporting-only teammate needs.
